To get started with this particular recipe, we must prepare a few components. You can have granola using 6 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.

    Ingredients

The ingredients needed to make Granola:

    1. Get 1 cup rolled oats
    2. Prepare 1/2 cup almonds
    3. Take 1/2 cup dried apricots
    4. Take 2 tbsp coconut oil
    5. Get 2 tbsp honey
    6. Make ready 1/2 cup desiccated coconut

I learned this recipe while working at a Bed and Breakfast in DC. Arguably the hardest part of baking granola is knowing when the granola is done. Using a low oven temperature helps dry out the granola without over-baking it, but keep in mind that the granola won't be dry right out of the oven β€” it will dry as it cools, so take it out of the oven when it looks lightly toasted and smells like cooked honey. Toss the oats, coconut, and almonds together in a large bowl.

    1. Mix all ingredients together
    2. Place it on a lined tray and keep it in oven for 20 mins at 160C
    3. Adjust temperature accordingly
    4. Keep it longer in oven if you like crunchy
    5. Once cool, store in airtight container

Whisk together the oil and honey in a small bowl. This granola recipe is also a far more healthy granola option, since it's made with whole grains, unrefined oil and naturally sweetened.
