    1. First of all make sure the pumpkin is ripe and red orangish in colour.
    2. In a wok, add 1 teaspoon ghee.
    3. As soon as it melts, add grated pumpkin.
    4. Cover it with lid and let it cook for 15 minutes. Keep stiring occasionally. If it seems watery, cook for another 5 minutes.
    5. Now add milk to the mixture.
    6. If you want it more creamy, mix a teaspoon of milk powder into the milk before adding it to the mixture.
    7. Without covering the mixture, cook it for another 7-8 minutes. Keep stiring it till the milk is absorbed.
    8. Now add another teaspoon of ghee and add dry spices to it. Add mawa at this stage if you wish to use it. Stir it well.
    9. The halwa must leave the sides of the wok by now.
    10. The halwa is ready, it can be eaten both chilled and hot. Top it with your favourite dryfruits.
