    The ingredients needed to make Pumpkin halwa:

    1. Get 2 cup pumpkin peeled and grated
    2. Prepare 1 cup sugar
    3. Prepare 1 cup milk
    4. Make ready 5 tablespoon ghee

    6. Prepare 2 tsp Pistachios
    7. Get 2 tsp Raisins
    8. Make ready 2 Cardamom pods

    In a non stick pan, put a teaspoon of ghee. Kasi Halwa (Pumpkin Halwa) is a famous and traditional dessert in Tamil Nadu made using Ash Gourd (White Pumpkin). This is one of the easiest halwa variety and can be prepared in very less time. This recipe of pumpkin halwa has been taken from Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor's most famous show "khana khazana" and is surprisingly very delicious.


    Instructions

    Instructions to make Pumpkin halwa:

    1. Heat 2 tablespoons ghee in a kadhai.
    2. When ghee gets heated, add the raisins. After the raisins puff, remove them from the kadhai and keep them on a separate plate.
    3. In the same kadhai, add the other chopped dry fruits and roast them. Keep them in the same plate where the raisins are kept.
    4. Now add 3 more tablespoons ghee to the same kadhai. Add the grated pumpkin and fry it on low flame till the raw smell goes away.
    5. Now add milk and let the pumpkin get cooked for some time. mix everything well.
    6. Keep stirring in between to avoid it sticking to the bottom of the kadhai. After some time, the halwa will start thickening. Add sugar and mix well.
    7. Keep stirring continuously when the halwa starts to thicken, add the dry fruits.
    8. Sprinkle the cardamom powder and Saffron on the halwa and mix well. When the halwa starts leaving the sides of the kadhai, it is done and ready to be served
