    Step by step instructions to make Semolina (Sooji) Vada. Vada is dough nut shaped popular crispy South Indian savory snack. Sooji vada is an easy and quick tea time crispy snack idea. In mixing bowl, add semolina followed by onion, ginger, green chilli, curry leaves, carrot and salt.

    Steps to make Semolina Vada / Sooji Vada:

    1. Prepare a batter for making the sooji vadas. For this, take a big mixing bowl and add semolina and water in it. Stir to mix everything really well. After this, green chilies, salt and mix all the ingredients.
    2. The consistency of batter should be same to the batter prepared with urad dal. Cover and keep the batter aside for 10 to 15 minutes to set.
    3. While making batter, make sure that the consistency is not too thick or thin.
    4. After 10 minutes, semolina will puff up.Take enough oil in wok for deep frying the vadas. To check if the oil heated well, bring your hand over the wok. You will feel the heat over your hand, so the oil is rightly heated now. Now reduce the flame to medium.
    5. Wet your hands with some water and take some batter on your palm. Now roll it a little. Gently slide the vadas into oil to fry.
    6. Fry the vadas until they turn golden brown in colour from all sides evenly. - - When the vadas are fried well, drain out the fried vadas on a plate covered with absorbent paper. Hold the ladle diagonally at the edge of the wok so that extra oil drain back into it. Similarly, fry rest of the vadas as well.
    7. Steaming hot sooji vadas are ready. These vadas which are Crispy outside and soft inside with green coriander chutney or peanuts chutney or samber and relish eating.

    Add thick curd and mix well. Add little water to make a smooth dough. Rava vada recipe with video - Karnataka style Instant rava vada made with semolina.
