    2. Drain all the water from soaked dal. grind urad dal to smooth paste using very little water.
    3. The batter should be thick and use very little water. the right consistency is very important or otherwise, you will not be able to get the vada shape. Transfer this in a bowl
    4. Add coriander leaves, green chilli, ginger, curry leaves, crushed black pepper, cumin seeds, hing and salt to the batter. mix it very well. Add 2-3 tsp of rice flour. rice flour is added to make it crispy.
    5. Mix well. Add 1 tbsp hot oil in it and mix well. Mix till the batter become light and fluffy. In a pan keep oil for frying.
    6. Take the batter โ€“ wet your both hands with water and take a small ball of batter in your right hand and throw it or / pat in on the left hand. This helps you to get the round shape.
    7. Then with the help of your index finger flatten the batter in your hand and make a hole in middle. Take it back in your right hand and slide it in the oil. Make sure your oil is not too hot.
    8. Let it fry in the oil till both sides becomes golden brown. And it is ready to serve. Hot and crispy MEDU VADA is ready to be eaten with Sambar, chutney.
